The only drawback for me is the poor quality of the built-in speakers which comes across as "tinny" sounding. I hooked up some external speakers which took care of the problem. Overall, I'm happy with this product. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By Snehurka (Durham, NC) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: ViewSonic VG930m 19-inch LCD Monitor (Electronics) My husband bought this for me because it's supposed to be one of the best screens on the market, as far as quality and color goes (he did a lot of research). This is true. It's great on the eyes, and if you spend a lot of time writing papers or working on documents, the squarish (i.e. not wide screen) size of the screen is great, because you see a lot of your page. You can also adjust the height really well, and the screen is quite compact, so it does not take up much space on a desk. I can't comment on technicalities, but as an amateur user, this works very well. One star off for a dead pixel which appeared three weeks after delivery. This is not really a problem for me, as I can't see it most of the time, but should be mentioned. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: ViewSonic VG930m 19-inch LCD Monitor (Electronics) My 19" Acer LCD that was about two years old went completely kaput so I used that as an opportunity to purchase this Viewsonic (this was for my office). I've been using a Viewsonic at home for about 5 years and have been totally satisfied with it, so that's why I chose the brand to replace the mediocre Acer.
The new unit was very easy to set up - just plug it in, load the software and go. I had to turn down the brightness but other than that, everything is great. Colors are vibrant, text is clear and sharp, the picture needed no alignments or adjustments (other than my brightness preference), there were no dead pixels, the panel brightness/backlight is uniform throughout the entire display, and overall I am very pleased. It is way better than the Acer. While waiting for my new monitor I hooked up a spare Acer widescreen as a temporary substitute. This Viewsonic has much, much better picture and text. It's worth spending a little bit more for the extra quality...Read more |
