This review is from: Samsung SyncMaster 940BX 19-inch LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I got this monitor for a home-office setup, not for movie watching or the like. There are fewer and fewer 4:3 options in LCDs, and this monitor is ideal for a dual-setup (I am ordering the second one shortly after Christmas). After almost 2 months, the display has been flawless, with plenty of settings and zero dead pixels. I would recommend the monitor to anyone looking for a great dual-screen setup or just the 4:3 aspect w/DVI.

This is not one of the cheapest LCD of its size. But it worth the money. I chose it because it is brighter and smoother.
It is easy to adjust the brightness, several pre-settings and a fine tune. Very easy to use.
I used it as an extension to my laptop. I can rotate it when I read articles in pdf files.

New Monitor,

I bought this because it was highly recommended by Consumer Reports. Also, there were a number of positive reviews on Newegg and other places. Boy, was I excited. Once installed, though, I was no longer happy. It was much brighter than my SyncMaster and rendered type, which I stare at all day long, in a fragmented, less-than-smooth, ugly way. I don't know, maybe there's a way to fix the type. I tried everything I knew, but got basically the same results. A couple of hours later, I gave up and donated it to someone who mostly views images. The bottom line for me is that this does not render type well. By the way, if someone out there knows what the problem is, I'd love to hear from them.
