With 16.7 million colors bombarding your rods and cones, you'll be impressed with the clearer, brighter imagery that this wide spectrum monitor has to offer. Another impressive feature of the 906BW is the pixel pitch, or the distance between pixels. This specification is usually measured in millimeters, and the smaller the pitch the sharper the image. Samsung offers a remarkable 0.285-millimeter pixel pitch for outstanding image clarity. The most talked about spec associated with LCD monitors is the measure of the difference of brightness levels between the brightest white and the darkest dark--the contrast ratio. With a contrast ration of 2000:1, this monitor assures crisp, easy-to-view images. Lastly, Samsung has designed this monitor with MagicColor to improve hue and saturation of colors. This function also adjusts mid-level colors to shades that the human eye accepts as natural. By enhancing the contrast ratio with MagicColor, fresh images with exceptional clarity spring to life, even on a darker screen.
Connectivity is also important when choosing a monitor. The 906BW features an advanced dual interface that is capable of handling both analog video signals for present use, and digital video signals for the future. Whatever the signal sources are, this monitor will process those signals to give you an optimal viewing experience. In addition, this monitor features a standard D-Sub 15-pin connection and a fast DVI-D connection for your high-resolution demands.
Other features include compatibility with all major operating systems (including Microsoft Vista's Premium standards) and an ultra-fast 2ms response time that virtually eliminates the "blur" that is present in 25, 16, and 12ms monitors (this is especially good news for gamers). Plus, with Samsung you have Magic Technologies, such asMagicBright3 and MagicTune, right at your fingertips. MagicBright3 is a new feature that provides the best viewing environment depending on the contents of the image you are watching, and MagicTune is Samsung's OSD (On-Screen Display) solution that provides a simple, convenient adjustment to the best image quality. The 906BW is designed to meet VESA standards to accommodate any display type. This monitor is both wall and arm mountable, so it fits almost any environment on your desk or the wall.

I have a P4 3.0Ghz PC with 1G RAM using the onboard S3 Savage Pro video card and I am running Windows XP Home Edition and XUbuntu Linux.
This is trully an amazing product. What comes is the package: - Monitor - Base (very easy to set up). The monitor is VESA compatible, so you can mount it on a wall if you want to. - VGA D-sub 15 pin cable (NO DVI cable) - Driver CD - Power Cord What I like: - Super design: simple and doesn't take a lot of room on my desk. - Glossy screen: as good as my Apple MacBook screen. - Picture quality: simply on of the best I've seen. Very bright and sharp. Using magic bright and magic color technology will allow you to set up the monitor exactly like you want. - Windows Vista certified. Works out of the box. Things you need to know: The CD Autorun doesn't work. Instead it...Read more 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful: By ms_bliz (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung SyncMaster 906BW 19-Inch LCD Monitor (Electronics) Originally I purchased this monitor because 1440 x 900 was the highest resolution listed in my display adapter. However, when I plugged the 906BW into my computer, a whole slew of new resolutions appeared, including the 1680 x 1050 needed for the 20" widescreen. I ended up returning this monitor for a 20" HP w2007. There is quite the difference in screen real estate between 19" and 20" as the 20" screens have a smaller dot pitch as well as higher resolution. But if you're absolutely sure you want a 19", you can't go wrong with the 906BW. Text was sharp, colors bright and I liked the OSD set up. I also liked the wide range of display options afforded by MagicColor and MagicBright3. Some settings were very bright and almost cartoonlike, which unfortunately washed out the lighter, pastel colors. (This is not just a Samsung problem, it's also the case with my HP, and probably a lot more LCDs.) In most cases you can lower the brightness settings, change to a different view,...Read more 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Samsung SyncMaster 906BW 19-Inch LCD Monitor (Electronics) So far, I have purchased five of these 19" and two of the 22" monitors for my small business. Image and video quality is superb, but I am most impressed with text quality. I do a lot of work with small text and numbers in spreadsheets. Other flat panels I own have left me longing for the days of crisp text on a CRT. But this Samsung out performs the best CRTs I ever owned. Know that this monitor is just that, a computer monitor. You can't connect it to a DVD player or component video source. It has just two inputs, analog VGA (15 pin) or Digital DVI-D. So it is for computers only. If that's what you need, you simply can find a better monitor for anything close to this price. |
