Comment: I've had this monitor for over 2 years and I've never once had a problem with it. Great picture, well built, and an overall quality product. Samsung is the best!

Comment: I bought the Samsung 932BW syncMaster 19 inch LCD monitor about 2 years ago. When loading software for a bluetooth adapter, it crashed. Samsung advertises that their monitors last longer. Do not believe it.

Comment: It's hard to rate a monitor (such as this) that works well, but then quits on you after a while. Speaking from experience, I've used this monitor for a about 2 and a half years and have really liked it overall (before it stopped working). I know I haven't explored all the little details and fine-tunings that are probably there to discover, but being someone who knows a bit about TVs/monitors (especially HD ones) I would say that, above all, the picture and performance of this monitor is very satisfactory - haven't seen much that I didn't like.
Perhaps, the fact that I haven't had to fool with much is something that goes in favor of this somewhat basic 19" monitor - again, the picture seems to me quite good and crisp.
Now, getting to the bad. As I stated in the beginning, I don't really have ANY complaints about the monitor, except for the fact that a few days ago, it went on the blink. As I write this review (interesting time to write it, I suppose) I am using another older CRT monitor while this Samsung is on its way to the company (fortunately still under warranty - believe it was a 3-yr warranty) to be repaired. The sad part is, I found out, after the fact, that this thing apparently has a somewhat known problem that numerous people have reported. Mainly, the monitor will do a light flicker (sometimes prolonged in some cases, and sometimes for a short period - my case) and then eventually go black. It has something to do with a converter component that apparently goes bad after a while. In any case, NOT a good thing.
So, cutting to the chase: why did I rate this monitor a 3? Well, in all fairness, it IS a good monitor...when it's WORKING...but I can't recommend it, unfortunately, because of its history of problems. Truth be told, it probably deserves less than a 3. I guess the question is, how long do you want your monitor to last? Me? I would have liked to get more than just a couple years out of it - I expect more than that.
Word on (Samsung) customer service: BAD!
I know that these experiences differ from person to person, but in my case, BOTH the "tech support" rep that I first spoke with (who admittedly is not a tech at all: "I'm not a certified technician") AND the supervisor I spoke with afterward (who also said the same thing), were very rude, unfriendly, rushing me practically off the phone, and not all that helpful or sympathetic. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine - bad customer service - anyone hear me??
I like Samsung, and I think they make (in some cases) good products, but the customer service needs work.
Sorry for a not-so-short review, but I hope it helps. Good luck finding the right monitor for yourself - I'd offer suggestions, but I'm in the middle of finding the 'right' (next) one for myself at the moment...
