Summary: No Mounting Alternatives 2010-03-11
Comment: The mounting base that comes with this monitor is, in my opinion, nearly useless. It places the monitor too low for comfortable use and is not adjustable. If you plan to mount the monitor on a wall bracket or an articulating arm, there are no VESA-standard screw holes on the back of the monitor. Amazon and Samsung sell a special mounting bracket (WMB2400T)that would allow attaching the monitor to any 100mm VESA interface, IF IT WORKED! And it costs $35 to $55 depending on where you buy it, which is outrageous for a capability that should be provided out-of-the-box, like most other brands. Contrary to what Samsung claims, the WMB2400T bracket is not compatible with the 2494SW monitor and is the only option available. The tab on the bracket is about 3.5" wide and the slot on the monitor that it slides into is about 2.5" wide. It does not fit in my case, although, I have seen postings by other users who used it successfully. Check before buying it. Samsung, [..] and their parts retailer (J&J International) have been non-responsive and uncooperative in helping to resolve the compatibility problem. They still claim that the bracket is compatible with the 2494SW, which it clearly is not.

Summary: Great monitor 2010-03-06
Comment: We have several Samsung monitors. I upgraded from a 22" 226BW to this monitor for more space and it's just about perfect. It displays easily two word processing pages at 100% in its native resolution. I've tried a larger monitor and it was actually too big, requiring more head movement to focus on the corners. The image quality is great and brightness is fine. Setup was easy.

Summary: Great monitor for a PC gamer 2010-02-12
Comment: I upgraded to this from my old HP system because of the fact that I purchased a new computer. As a PC gamer, I really appreciate how beautiful everything looks on this. I gotta say though, it takes some getting used to when going from a really bad monitor to this particular beauty! Simply wonderful! A+++

Summary: Best price! 2010-02-11
Comment: I looked for this same monitor all over the internet and here is where I found it for the best price. The delivery was right on time and the monitor works awesome! It was definitely an unbelievable price for such a top-of-the-line monitor. No complaints whatsoever.

Summary: Solid monitor for the price 2010-02-09
Comment: As many have touched on, this monitor isn't the must-have of the season, but if you're on a budget, and looking to break the 20" LCD barrier, this is a solid purchase.

This monitor has decent viewing angles. I've noticed some obvious color changes along the vertical edges when moving my head up and down, but playing with the tilt of the screen fixed most of that. The panel is vibrant, but at an odd resolution. Almost all modern games will support the particular resolution, but it can lead to some oddities with aspect ratio. Watching TV on this thing, however, is amazing. No ghosting, vibrant color, and good image quality on side-to-side from even 20-30 feet away. This also supports HDCP, which means you can do 1080p straight to this from a blu-ray player. I can't express how frustrating that was was when I recently bought a blu-ray capable DVD drive for a PC and couldn't even use the 1080p functionality.

Right now, I'm using this as a transition monitor until later in the summer months, and I'm very glad I did. I upgraded from a Dell 2005FPW, and this is a significant improvement from that particular panel. This may even delay the final jump to a 30" for a little while.
