Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: NEC EA222WME-BK 22-Inch LCD Monitor (Black) (Electronics) I use the NEC as a second monitor for my laptop. It shares the same preferred resolution as my laptop display so it is a perfect complement. Excellent image and ECO support. Highly recommended. This review is from: NEC EA222WME-BK 22-Inch LCD Monitor (Black) (Electronics) We have had this monitor for two months. The off-angle image is not great. The image washes out pretty significantly. If you are looking straight on (as you would in most cases), the monitor has the potential to present you with a pleasing image and accurate colors. But in order to get the best out this monitor you have to calibrate it. Out of the box, the monitor is too bright and too "contrasty". I eventually got the brightness down to 25% and the contrast down to 31% and this is for a monitor near a window. To get the colors right, you need calibrate. The controls are easy to use and intuitive.
So if you have the time and desire to to get this monitor looking its best, then by all means pick one up. By MdniteEagl (Mt. Another thing I liked about the EA222WMe was the LED backlight. While this raises the purchase price a notch, the current draw is less (as low as 13W in EcoMode 2) and the life expectancy is longer. If you buy this, be sure to download the owner's manual from the NEC website, as you'll otherwise be wondering how to adjust this thing from the factory settings. One thing I disabled immediately was the "automatic brightness" feature... this uses an optical sensor on the front of the monitor to dim or brighten the screen real-time to changing light conditions...Read more |
