Amazon.com Product Review
The benefits of flat-panel displays are many, especially when you find one that offers quality without entirely emptying your wallet. The NEC AccuSync 71V packs a number of impressive features into a cabinet measuring less than 3 inches deep and weighing just 10.1 pounds.
This 17-inch display is a full two inches larger than the 15-inch LCD standard. It provides 1,280 x 1024 resolution, a 0.264 mm dot pitch, 450:1 contrast ratio, and 250 nits of brightness, all of which work together to create visuals that are finely detailed, smoothly functioning, and vividly colored. Rapid Response technology keeps pace with complex animations, whether you're pulling together tomorrow's Power Point presentation or dispatching a few dragons in your favorite online game.
The clean cabinet is classic, and the sleek design fades into the background, letting your images stand front and center. The stand is detachable, and the screen ready for wall or optional arm mounting--you'll have the ultimate clutter free desktop. The manufacturer provides a three-year warranty covering parts, labor, and the backlight.

I've spent much time researching to buy a new monitor. At first, I went with 19 CRT from Envision. It was a mistake. The image was blurry and the screen does not match the edge of the screen despite of whatever I did. So I returned it and got SONY HS53 for over 440 dollars. But then I saw many reviews of dead pixels in Sony LCD monitors so I just returned it without even opening it. Then I spent a few weeks trying to find the best monitor for my budget (less than 450 for 17 inch) and decided on either NEC ASLCD17v or LCD1760v. I also considered LCD1765 which was about 470 after a rebate and coupons. Among those 17v was the cheapest so I went with it. The only difference btw 17v and 1760v was luminance. 17v is 250 whereas 1760v is 260 which I think is a minor difference. Everything else was the same; contrast, response time. I was worried that I wouldn't like it but when I connected it and saw the image, I was very satisfied. Text is very clear after a minor adjustment. The...Read more

Great monitor but I ordered one from Amazon, it had a bad pixel. I sent it back and the replacement had a bad pixel, too.
Amazon has been good but my opinion of NEC/Mit. has plummeted. Where's the quality control?
