When I was looking for an LCD to replace my old CRT, I wanted to spend no more than $400 ideally. The NEC ASLCD92V fits the bill perfectly.
First, NEC-Mitsubishi has a good reputation for engineering consumer-grade and higher computer displays, so I felt safe going with the NEC name.
Second, now that I have it, the visual quality of the display exceeds the quality that I as a consumer have the right to demand for the price: brightness is nice, I don't see flicker, the 1280X1024 resolution means my 19" LCD displays a substantial amount of information on the screen; there is one defective pixel near the bottom of the screen, but I think I can live with that in 1280X1024 resolution.
One important note: after I hooked up the monitor, my Windows system became unstable to the point of unusability. The problem was my graphics card -- an ATI Radeon 7000 -- which is too old and no longer supported by ATI, and simply could not support rendering to the new...Read more

I agree with the other reviewers that this is a fine monitor. It set up fast and easily with a bright face and vivid colors. No adjustment was required, but I found it a bit too bright and easily dimmmed it slightly. No problem with Windows x-p.
