For Hookup of Electronic Components to AC Power Providing Monster Clean Power v2.0 and Protection for AC Power and One DBS or Cable TV Source You Need to Protect our Components from Unstable AC Power The power condition in the U.S. is unstable. The AC power that runs your home theater is constantly in a state of flux. Sometimes there's too much voltage, sometimes not enough. Power can become so unstable that you can actually see it happening, like when the lights in your house suddenly begin flickering. during the worst case scenario, when your equipment turns back on, a power spike can be 200-300 volts. Your expensive electronic home theater components are extremely sensitive to ANY increase in voltage, and can be severely damaged or destroyed by these unseen fluctuations in power. And, when it comes to surge protection, remember, IT'S ALL OR NOTHING... every possible pathway for surges (including coax and phone lines) must be protected. Monster PowerCenters Provide Maximum Protection The Monster Power Home Theatre PowerCenter HT 850 is equipped with Monster's fast-acting high capacity Multiple SurgeGuard circuitry, which instantly detects any voltage surge or spike and immediately suppresses it BEFORE it can even reach your components. Plus, we've designed the HT 850 with 1 sets of coaxial connections so you can hook up your HDTV or cable box for total home theater system protection. Best of all, unlike other surge protectors, Monster's ultra-low-loss RF circuity provides maximum protection with virtually NO SIGNAL LOSS.

Amazon.com Product Review

Amazon.com Product Description The fact is, analog audio equipment is sensitive to a different type of noise than video, just as video is sensitive to a different type of noise than digital, and so on. In the past, manufacturers have used filters to combat the problem of noise introduced via power sources. Unfortunately, the filters were not optimized to attenuate at the different frequencies that are unique to digital, analog audio, and video realms. Products that managed to deliver truly cleaner AC power were thousands of dollars in price, out of reach for most people. Enter Head Monster Noel Lee. An uncompromising audiophile, Lee joined forces with Richard Marsh, the world’s foremost expert on AC power, to develop affordable solutions to AC power problems. The result? Monster Clean Power.

More Than Just Surge! -Monster Clean Power
The following overviews of Monster’s isolated, specially tuned Clean Power filters demonstrate the methodology behind Clean Power’s development. The higher the Clean Power stage, the more advanced the noise filtration. The more advanced the noise filtration, the higher the level of component-to-component isolation.

  • Isolated Clean Power Digital Filters
Optimized to reduce noise generated by digital equipment digital filters isolate digital components from connected analog audio and video components for maximum rejection of interference.

  • Isolated Clean Power Video Filters
Optimized to reduce noise generated by video equipment, video filters isolate video components from connected digital and analog audio components for maximum rejection of interference.

  • Isolated Clean Power Analog Audio Filters
Optimized to provide maximum noise rejection for sensitive analog audio components, audio filters isolates audio components from connected digital and video components for maximum rejection of interference.

  • Isolated Clean Power Ultra-High Current Filter
Optimized for maximum noise rejection, ultra-high current filters provide maximum current to high power components such as surround sound amplifiers.

  • Reference Home Theater Power
Monster PowerCenters also offer the most comprehensive home theater system protection available, featuring higher joule ratings for faster acting, full capacity surge protection. Monster’s Multiple SurgeGuard and Tri-Mode Circuitry instantly detects any voltage surge or spike and immediately suppresses it before it can reach your components. And, for your total peace of mind, the latest generation of Monster Home Theatre Reference PowerCenters come with higher Connected Equipment Guarantees (CEGs).

Unlike other surge protectors, the PowerCenters’ ultra low-loss RF circuitry provides maximum protection with virtually no signal loss, especially important with the advent of HDTV. In addition, all PowerCenters display current draw and voltage.

Monster recognizes that convenience is vital, too. The PowerCenters feature component-assigned color coding with matching power cord labels for easy identification, and all are rack mountable, for easy integration into custom installed rack mount systems.

Some people think Monster articles are overpriced. Maybe at List price, but this is a good unit for what I paid for. This power center seems to work just fine. I like how it takes power adapters at the sides which normally take up 2 sockets. The overall dimensions are much smaller than the old power center it replaced. The increase in picture quality stated by some people is probably overrated. I had a good picture before and I have a good picture with this power center. But I feel better having a functional surge suppressor.
The LED light is bright blue, so this power center maybe not the best choice for a bedroom. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

This is the first 'fancy' power strip I have ever bought as it seemed silly to spend much money on something like that. I no longer feel this way. When this arrived first thing I noticed is the quality of the construction which is excellent. In addition, there are design features that have proven to be very intuitive to certain needs, an example being the socket on one of end of the unit, whereas the rest are along the longer edge...the end one proved so useful because one of my plugs has a oddly shaped box on it which interferes with the plugs next to it when used in the series of plugs but with the solo plug at the end of the unit I am able to plug that in as well without losing access to any plugs next to it. The power button has a nice blue glow which is handy for me as I like to turn off the power to all my electronics when I go to bed and that blue light is an easy reminder I havent turned that one off yet. The electronic surge protection features are just excellent and...Read more

Got this Powercenter to replace one that was lagging in the amount of items that could be plugged in. This one not only holds more, but also came with labels for the cords ... nice. Heavy duty base cord. We mounted ours on the wall for convenient access.
