It's got a decent picture, contrast ratio, and everything else. For the price it can't really be beat. I rated it a 4/5 due to the fact that I own MANY different monitors. If you want a REALLY classy high quality monitor, go with an HP. But they're expensive. It would be this much just for a 20" HP. A 23" would run about $270. After owning many high-end and low-end monitors, I'd say this is monitor is a really nice compromise and it's definitely worth it for the price. I'm a certified Computer Repair Technician so I know what I'm talking about with these things. I don't think I'd want more than one of these just because I would prefer to spend considerably more for a higher end monitor, but it's great for just having around. Besides...I'm not your regular computer user. If you're just a regular Joe then this monitor will be more than plenty for your needs. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By G.B.D. (New England) - See all my reviews This review is from: LG W2343T-PF 23-Inch Class Widescreen LCD Monitor (Gloss Black) (Personal Computers) Apparently this is the 2009 model. I called LG when the CD did not offer WIN7 as an installment choice. The rep told me that there is a 2010 model, "about the same." He would not give details. The CD which would allow "on screen" adjustments does not support WIN7 and no download is available OR will ever be available! A bit disappointing. As far as this monitor goes, it's great: very bright, sharp, lots of adjustments on the lower right body. AND, there is the "fun" button which allows you to go to 4:3 ratio, the "old" style. I bought it because of specs, good reviews and that "old" ratio, having been warned that the widescreens are tough to get used to. I gave it a 4 because you can't use the onscreen adjustments in WIN7. It is plug-n-play though, with tilt adjustment, a DVI-D outlet (have to buy the cable separately), light weight, and picture adjustments on the frame...these are black-on-black in plastic and tough to read without a little extra light on them. I'd buy it again for...Read more 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: LG W2343T-PF 23-Inch Class Widescreen LCD Monitor (Gloss Black) (Personal Computers) I recommend this monitor to anyone who wishes to experience absolutely no reflective glare.
Ultimately I bought this monitor for a multi-monitor setup. With that in mind, I rate this piece of equipment at 5 stars. You may choose to disable the wavy red LED power indicator. Many onboard options including effects like Gaussian blur, Sepia, Monochrome and customizable brightnesses and contrasts allow the user to create a different effect on each monitor, if desired. Using VGA cable instead of HDMI capable ones produces no discernable difference, for those of you who only have a VGA port available. Pros: No monitor reflection, it will exceed your needs. Cons: If you prefer 'matte' black casing, this products frame may be too 'piano finish' for your liking. |
