It exhibits rich but natural colors and clearly legible text, video parameters (brightness, contrast, sharpness, etc.) are easily adjustable and produces essentially no glare even in brightly lit environments. The downsides: the stand is cheap and thin plastic with only a 5% viewing angle adjustment available; no HDMI input (but does have DVI). 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: LG W2240T 22-Inch Monitor (Black) (Personal Computers) REVIEW UPDATE: Found a HUGE dealbreaker for me in regards to this monitor that may not apply to some people, but I figured it should be listed. When this monitor goes into standby mode, its large LED power button blinks on and off. You CAN NOT turn off this feature, I even asked LG. You can turn off the power button light itself, but when it goes into standby, the light goes back to blinking. Sure it's a soft glow you say but try that in a completely dark room with two of these monitors and it gets old quick. It's an absolute shame because I really like this monitor and this is my second try to find one that I'm happy with, but if I can't sleep while these sleep, it's a no go for me. I can't go without mentioning my opinion that LG knows how to make a beautiful picture, but whoever decided that a large blinking light was an acceptable behavior for a monitor in standby is an idiot. It makes no sense. (End update, see below for original review)

This review is from: LG W2240T 22-Inch Monitor (Black) (Personal Computers) First of all: this monitor only comes with a VGA cable, and can only support VGA and DVI-D input. Also, although it's labeled as a 22 inch monitor, the visible display is 21.5 inches (diagonal of course). The display is also matte, not glossy.
One slight problem, which may have just been a defect in my item, was that the top left corner of the monitor had a blue hue when displaying blacks. This is not noticeable when seen directly head-on, but because I was trying to use this as second monitor, my viewing angle was from the right and this bothered me very much so I returned it. I bought this monitor as a companion to my late 2009 21.5" iMac. Using VGA, this monitor was not officially recognized by my iMac (the computer just used a generic labeling of "VGA/SVGA Monitor" ) and could only display a maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050 which was disappointing as I had mainly bought the screen so that I could have identical screen real-estate for both displays. I...Read more |
