Great color, nice and bright display, well made. I traded in my dual 19" monitor set-up and I am very happy. Pros: built-in speakers (when you don't need to listen to music at a loud volume) true high definition hdmi port stand allows you to place your keyboard on it to clear up desk space power button and power indicator on top so it doesn't annoy you swivels and pivots Cons: only has vga and hdmi ports, no dvi only came with the vga cord, no hdmi (Acer comes with all three) lousy one-year warranty I like it. The only comparable in size and cost is the Acer Computer X233H BD 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor. It's got a three-year warranty and vga, hdmi, and a dvi ports. Also comes with all three cables. I have not compared the two next to each other. If the graphics look as good on the Acer, I'm going to...Read more 60 of 65 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: HP W2338H 23-Inch Widescreen Monitor (Personal Computers) I've had the monitor for a day and it's excellent. It's connected to my aluminum MacBook and after a one-time setup (see below) the picture is sharp and clear and the colors are true to my eyes. It was fun watching a video at [...] with it. I bought it for its size and the 23 inch display is perfect for me. I can fit a couple of windows side by side so it's reduced the need to juggle windows. The picture controls are easily accessible and intuitive to use (unlike my old 19-inch Samsung that the HP is replacing). I'm not using the internal speakers because I have a desktop sound system that takes little space. So far I have nothing negative to say but if something comes up I'll update my review.
I considered getting the Apple 24-inch display. But at almost $900 vs. ~$250 for the 23-inch HP there was no contest. I've seen the Apple in the Apple store and it looks great. But so does the HP. I suppose if you put them side by side there could be visible differences. But I'll...Read more 31 of 32 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: HP W2338H 23-Inch Widescreen Monitor (Personal Computers) I recently replaced a Samsung 19" flat screen with this monitor, and it is fantastic. No dead pixels, it is bright, has good contrast, and is all-around very sharp. I like the widescreen format too. I would have given it 5 stars, except for that the screen is so glossy that if I'm, say, watching a movie, and it cuts to a dark scene, I suddenly see myself reflected in it. Right now I can see myself reflected in the dark wallpaper I have on the desktop. I'd say the reflectivity is similar to that of the underside of a DVD. Also, keep in mind that this monitor does not have a DVI input, so if you get it and only have DVI, be sure to get a DVI to HDMI adapter in your order. It'll save you a last-minute trip to Fry's. |
