ASUS VH236HL-P 23-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black

I've had this monitor for about 6 months now and I have nothing but great things to say about it. It's huge, it's relatively inexpensive, it has one of the fastest response times for gaming of any screen in this class and price range, and it shows pictures and movies beautifully. Setting it up was a snap, and I recommend this model for being able to adjust the tilt of the monitor as well as move it up and down (vertically); other models don't let you do this. It's even stunning to look at just sitting on my desk turned off! It arrived super fast and in perfect condition and with no dead pixels, although Amazon has one of the best dead pixel policies of any company out there, so in addition to having the best price, I bought from Amazon for the peace of mind too. It's a great monitor and I love the size, the color and it has a nice picture. I like the adjustable positions and the different connections that can plug into it. The only draw back is that my LG Flatron W2241T has better resolution. However, unless you have them both on at the same time you would never notice it. The other great thing is it's an Asus. I've been following this company for years back when they were known for just their motherboards. They have a commitment to quality in all of the products that I've used. They got known, they became larger, and instead of sitting back, they work harder to get even better.

The ASUS monitor is a well built monitor. The size of the base makes the monitor fairly stable and the tilt/swivel/height adjustment capability is a welcomed feature. Another great feature is a hotkey to switch from five video preset modes (Game Mode, Night View Mode, Scenery Mode, Standard Mode, Theater Mode) with what ASUS calls SPLENDID(tm) Video Enhancement Technology.

The only negative issue I have is not being able to see the monitor control buttons easily. The wording is hard to read and they arre not illuminated. Granted you don't use these buttons much after you have the features adjusted, but they are hard to see. This issue is very minor and should not keep you from purchasing this monitor.
