(Intro)I have a two year old and as such, I can't play some of the more violent video game console titles that I used to before he was born . Either my son is awake and so I can't have him see me fight aliens and world war II enemies or he is asleep and so the sound of the game is too loud that it will wake up while he is taking his nap. So I figured I'll pick up a small monitor to use with my Sony Playstation 3 just for games and to watch movies/tv shows from my PC as a 2nd monitor in the office. Since my primary reason for picking up this monitor is to play Playstation 3 games, the monitor had to be 1080p (1920x1080 native resolution) to avoid seeing black bars on the top and bottom of the monitor when playing 16:9 aspect ratio games or movies. So far, I am really happy with my purchase.
PROS
- Fast recycle time for games. You can really tell between this monitor and say my Dell 30" monitor I use for photo editing.

I have used many different monitors over a couple of decades using PC computers. My first one, was very crude by today's standards.
This HDMI ASUS VH226H is a 21.5" monitor that has it all from full 1920x1080 hdmi, to DVI, to a d-SUB vga and a modest audio. There is a earphone jack provided too. I never purchase monitors for a speaker and these are just a last stop choice for audio that is most likely a 5.1 speaker output system on most computers these days. So you could use it as a middle channel if you wanted to. I don't even bother with the speakers on my monitor.
ASUS made sure the monitor has everything you need in the box. No need to purchase extra cables, all are provided. My monitor arrived well packed from the manufacturer, NO dead pixels or drop-outs anywhere on the massive screen. I like this monitor, displays HD movies and good for gaming as well. I have two 24'' monitors. Comparing this to my Acer G24, I still prefer the color on G24 because they are different in depth. For example the green on the Asus monitor has a slight more yellowish feel compared to my G24 while gaming in Warcraft III DoTA. But, just a matter of personal color preference. This monitor is awesome anyways!
