The MS238H comes with ASUS' 2 year LCD monitor warranty for its casing and panel. Accessories and cables come with a 1 year warranty. Within 2 years, if more than 3 bright dots and/or 5 dark dots are found, ASUS will replace the panel under the warranty. A bright dot is a white defective dot that is over 1/2 of the whole sub-pixel under BLACK pattern. A dark dot is a black defective dot that is over 1/2 of the whole sub-pixel under any pattern. I often see a lot of conflicting reviews about this particular monitor because of either it's stand, brightness, not full 1080p (I don't know where that one came from) or some other subjective thing that really isn't a concrete fact either way. If you're on the fence about buying this monitor, I was in your position shortly ago, and I went for it. It has everything I needed, 1080p, HDMI, LED backlit, fast response time, decent size, etc.

I'm using it mainly for gaming, I have my Xbox 360 and PS3 hooked up to it currently, not a PC however (the only difference being the PC looking significantly better.) The transaction has been flawless, and everything I connected to it worked instantly with no issues. No dead pixels. Very fast arrival, came 2 days early.

The picture is great. It's very sharp, and very bright. I don't know why a lot of people have to turn down the brightness; they must have the monitor in a very dark or closed off area, because I found the...Read more

---Full 1080 HD. Do not be fooled by these others monitors claiming 'high-def'

---Weighs 7 pounds, not 27, making it adjustable with the push of a finger

---The response time is 2ms...not 5ms(gamers will understand the magnificence of this wonderful feature)

---$200 bucks....are...you...kidding....me......this monitor is well worth $300-350 when compared to all the old prehistoric garbage still being pushed out there for more money that it cost to buy this one.

---10 million to 1 dynamic ratio. People say, "Dynamic ratio is just a sales crutch," but I DARE you to find another monitor out there even remotely close. You wont because no one else has such technology out yet besides what is inside this monitor. If you do find something close, I bet it is at the very least 100-200 bucks more and only around 1 million to 1. 10 million to 1, enough said here.

RESEARCH:
I spent nearly a month researching different brands and models of monitors, but ultimately made the decision to go with the ASUS ms238h. I am currently the owner of a HP w2408h that I use for business, so my review is loosely based on a comparison between the ms238h and the w2408h. When new, the HP was nearly $500 vs the more affordable price of $200 for the ASUS.

DISPLAY:
The ms238h is a super thin and lightweight monitor that provides a very crisp and brilliant display. Out of the box, the monitor is bright enough to knock your socks off! (On my HP, I have the brightness turned down to 0.) Once I learned how to navigate through the menu, I was able to adjust the brightness quite easily. This display also provides true HD (1920x1080). Videos/movies play well thanks to the fast response time. This monitor is great for viewing photos as well. Unlike the HP, the screen is not glossy, so reflections are minimized.
