Customer Video Review Length:: 1:52 Mins
Brief overview of the ASUS MS236H LCD Monitor.
Pros -
-Thin
-Cheap $$$
-Looks Stylish
-Pretty good color reproduction
-2ms response time (good for games and videos, no ghosting)
Cons -
-No DVI input
-Bundled DVI to HDMI cable is faulty. Tried other cables works fine. So confirmed problem is with bundled cable.
-Angled, can't sit straight it up.
-Touch buttons are not responsive.

So if you watch the video you can get the jist of my review. Basically its pretty good except the bundled DVI to HDMI cable will not work with my ATI Radeon HD 5850, I bought a DVI to VGA cable and it works fine (HDMI to HDMI works fine also), so yeah, something is up with that cable! Also, the touch buttons to operate the OSD are not responsive at all on one of my monitors. On the other, it works OK, not great, but OK. Again, not that great on the touch controls compared to my...Read more

...four of them actually. Yes, that's right: 4 dead pixels. Not in a bunch either. 4 dead pixels in separate spots. I begrudgingly decided to live with them because of the hassle of returning a monitor until the audio pass-through starting acting up as well. For those who do not know, this monitor features an audio-out jack where you can plug in speakers; the audio is fed to the speakers via the HDMI cable. So, the speakers were periodically crackling--which again I was prepared to live with, but then a huge pop and explosion of sound and then no audio at all. It took 15 minutes and a restart of the system to get audio back out of the speakers. Now they are crackling with even more regularity. Yes, I have plugged them back into the headphone port of the computer and there is no crackling. The problem does not seem to be in the speakers. With all of these issues I can't help but wonder what will happen later, not to mention the fact that these issues are undesirable as they are now...Read more

Dislay size, picture quality and ease of use are exceptional using Pentium Dual Core & Vista. Ability to use VGA connection was necessary to connect to my laptop and use as a 2nd display. I wish I had a newer HD processor so that I could review the HD quality for you. A monitor that is equally pleasing to the eyes when not in use. The stand is not your typical pedestal, if you plan to place this monitor in a heavy traffic area where it could get tipped "from the rear", consider a fastening method to better secure the stand to your work surface. I would not rule this out simply because of negative comments regarding the stand; I enjoy the slight pressure needed to tilt the display back and forth and if I was working alongside some wrestless chimps I expect no monitor to be completely stable. Shipping and delivery times were exceptional.
