This review is from: ASUS MS228H 21.5-Inch LED Monitor - Black (Personal Computers) It's a great monitor for a very good price. Actually, it's detected as a DTV by Intel HD Graphics. It's lightweight and has a brilliant screen. The small power adapter is a nice touch.
A few things to keep in mind. The "stand" sits best at a slight angle. Because of the way the monitor is built, you lose the "storage" space under your monitor. The controls are all touch operated and can be a bit annoying to fiddle with. Has VGA, HDMI, and HDMI to DVI cable for the inputs. I also have the MS238H and I can't really tell the difference except for the sizes. I had the scaling issue for the MS238H with the 5670, i.e., you may get a black border with a shrunken screen. If you have an ATI video card, you may have a scaling issue with this one as well (haven't checked since I'm using i3 540 for this one. see the reviews for the other similar monitors). Overall, it's an excellent monitor at a great value. By This review is from: ASUS MS228H 21.5-Inch LED Monitor - Black (Personal Computers) This monitor is absolutely amazing. It's great for people who like to look straight on at their monitors, not up.I bought this monitor over a year ago to go with my new desktop. I spent weeks going through every monitor option, comparing and contrasting them, reading reviews, and choosing the things I liked best. After all of that, I decided on this one (in "starry blue," which might as well be black-- I finally noticed the sparkling blue on the back after about 7 months of ownership and was amazed). PROS: - Fits perfectly on my desk at my college dorm. - Bright, colorful, high resolution (full 1080p) - LED, not LCD! Uses less energy (= lower bills! Okay, not by a lot, but over time...) - A variety of preset settings for different styles of viewing (ex: Gaming mode, Scenery mode) - Requires no more than a touch of a finger to turn on - Easy to hook up - I swear this screen feels so much bigger than 21.5" (but I did...Read more By Christopher Wing (USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: ASUS MS228H 21.5-Inch LED Monitor - Black (Personal Computers) This is a great LED monitor that I picked up for $130. The colors are crisp, display inputs are HDMI and VGA and comes included with a VGA cable and a DVI to HDMI cable. This leaves connectivity options. In addition, there is an AUDIO OUT mini jack something that isn't very common. It is more common for AUDIO IN and built-in speakers. While this seems convenient, the speakers are always poor quality in my experience so it is great to have the option to have them output to the source you desire whether it be headphones or speakers.
The touch sensitive controls are easy to use, however, I'm a fan of tactile feedback. This is a minor complaint. The major one I have is the stand that it uses. Most monitors give a direct flat view, but this one makes it tilt back slightly. This is problematic in pretty much all situations unless you sit in a viewing angle slightly above the monitor. All-in-all if you can pick it up for around the price that I did I...Read more |
