What a great time to be a electronics junkie! This item is one of those deals you just have to tell others about. I couldn't find the E2043F on display at a brick and mortar, probably with good reason. It outshines similar name brand monitors costing substantially more. All the reviews have been positive for this fairly unknown brand manufactured in China like everything else. Rarely do I buy monitors sight unseen, but I took a chance based on user reports and was very pleased with this product.
The unit came packaged like something from the big name manufacturers with peel off plastic skin protecting the exposed surfaces and biodegradable packing. The power block was large sized like a laptop's and a VGA cord, software and even a soft wiping cloth was included with the quick start directions. Was a little skeptical of this monitor for the cheap price of $95. As an IT Support Tech. I've seen and worked with a lot of different brands of monitors. Needless to say when I unpacked one of them I was blown away by how thin the screen was and of its sleek design. The picture this monitor can and does produce is so clear and crisp. Being desperate for a monitor, after my old Magnavox flat panel analog TV, serving as a monitor, began overheating, I began looking for an upgrade. Any flat panel would do in my emergency situation, and due to desktop space considerations, 20" was my maximum. LCD vs LED? While I often consider "cheaper is better", I decided to go for an LED. The AOC E043F met my first criteria. The demo unit had a bright, distortion-free picture, and quality was indistinguishable from other comparable brands having much higher price tags; it was even cheaper than other make LCD models of the same size.

It took longer to open the box & unpack the unit than it did to plug it in & begin use. Plug & play seems the norm in computer accessories, and the 'cheapo' AOC is no exception. While I looked around for a better driver, the resident Windows 7 drivers work just fine.
