Basic monitor without any bells and whistles. Screen is bright and colors pop.
The reviewer that posted about the blurry pic is having a technical issue not related to the product. You have to set your computer's resolution to the "native" resolution of your monitor which for this montior is 1366x768. Most people think you can just unplug an old monitor and connect a new one but that is not correct. In their review they stated they had a CRT monitor which is not widescreen and therefore their resolution is probably 1024x768 which is probably causing their issue. Buy with confidence as these monitors have a three year warranty. I have purchased Acer monitors that required warranty service (they were almost three years old and were on non-stop). The warranty process is pretty straight forward. Before I get into the review, let me just say: I'm no tech whiz, but I'm not exactly what you'd call computer illiterate. This monitor came with a pretty much useless "instruction manual" that doesn't give you a step-by-step guide to setting this thing up (their step-by-step makes no mention of the CD, or when/if computer should be turned on, etc.) But fear not, it's really not hard to figure out. It simply comes with the VGA cable and the power cord. Connect the cords accordingly. (A 10 year old could figure it out. "Square peg goes into the....? That's right, Johnny.") It comes with a CD, but I didn't even have to use it. I connected this thing literally 5 minutes ago, took me about two minutes to plug it all up and get it working (yeah, I guess my excitement might have played a part in it.) And now I'm enjoying this widescreen monitor. Very crisp picture.
