I chose it because it is inexpensive. I thought in worst case I just use it as a security camera monitor.
I have being using my Acer G215HV for 2 month. For the good thing it works so far so good. Image is stable with both VGA and DVI inputs. The X shape base is stable enough without occupy too much desk space. No major problems other than following two.
First problem is the viewing angle. If you buy it for your home computer you better sit tight when use it. Cause when you sit back and stand it becomes ugly. The second problem is the contrast. Even if you directly face it the contrast can't compare with any other LCD I've used. I explored all possible settings but can't improve much. It must be the limitation of cheap LCD technology.
In conclusion, don't buy. I wish I had returned it in the first month.
inexpensive works ok, poor viewing angles,

I did not buy this thing at amazon, it was the cheapest monitor in a store.
It was chosen for the price and reasonable spec.
It it's a mediocre monitor at best.
I bought 2 of them for a side-by-side dual mon. setup.
immediately - the monitors seem to not match - for the simple reason that I am looking at them at a different angle - slightly from the right (for the left monitor) and slightly from the left (for the right monitor), and the color change is not the same from both directions.
2nd - vertical viewing angle is even more restricted - if you try to set them up in a portrait orientation the mismatch described above is too much to tolerate.
wait there is more.
it's only been a year - one of them just died - the image became blotchy and striped and BAD.
the warranty is 3 years - so they will fix it ... I just have to pay for shipping one way
and one more thing - I have borrowed a viewsonic to use as a second...Read more
