Extremely happy with this display. Was able to achieve the rich and natural image quality one expects from a good monitor with very little tweaking and calibration. No defective pixels or frustrating back light bleed. This will be the third display I've owned from Acer and I'm happy to say that the excellent quality has remained consistent. Very comfortable viewing while both gaming and designing ads in Photoshop. It's aesthetically beautiful while mounted as well. Auto-input selection is a plus and navigating the menu system is a snap thanks to the responsive touch sensitive panel on the front. My gaming rig, Xbox 360 and PS3 are all connected and look stunning. Gaming on all fronts is very satisfying. This of one of three 27" monitors I purchased at the same time; the other two being Samsung and ASUS brands. I thought for sure the Samsung would be the pick of the litter based on reviews but I was proven wrong. This Acer was indeed the standout.

After lots of comparing to the other affordable 27 inchers I bought this one in June of 2011 after a few much needed specifications from FiSH, the other reviewer above. I narrowed my search down to the Viewsonic VX2753mh, Samsung S27A550H, the Acer S273HL and this one. The Samsung was overpriced and apparently not worth the extra money. The Viewsonic seemed bulky and ugly in design, and the other Acer looked like a piece of modern art that would get annoying very quickly.

Turning this Acer H274HL on for the first time I immediately knew I'd chosen wisely. It's everything I was looking for; thin, light, looks good, comes with all the cables you could use and even after hours of use it stays easy on the eyes. I work in an extremely well lit, bright room with big windows, and I'm amazed at how clear and bright the image is even from across the room at the height of daylight. I picked up my 27" inch monitor for 229+ tax from Fry's when it was on sale. I didn't expect much since it was so cheap but I was pleastantly surprised because the screen is really bright, fast, and has really good colors. I hooked it up to my Mac Mini, 2011, using HDMI and it connected with no issues. The speakers in the monitor aren't very good, but can do the job if you don't listen to music...they are really tinny sounding and have no range whatsoever. The 27" inch monitor dwarfed my old 22" screen, and now I can't go back.
