I was until today using a Dell 20" monitor
I wanted a monitor with DVI and HDMI out, with stand adjustments for tilt, height, and swivel. There are very few monitors that meet those demands. First thing I noticed was the obvious difference in color. Every monitor make/model will require some tweaking to get the color right. This is most often done using the color management tools from your video card settings. There are built in controls on this monitor, but they are limited to brightness and contrast. The reason I bought this screen is that my Apple 23" Cinema Display broke down and did not have the dookoo to buy a new Apple one. Now that's where the "nice at first" starts and immediately ends... coming from a Cinema Display every other brand sucks, and this is no exception. I guess I was too naive and thought the ACER pro line of monitors could be used for graphics works. Don't even try. If you are into graphic design, photo retouch or video editing do not buy this monitor. The screen's colors are like a rainbow, heavy color shifting from left to right, especially when you move your position. Up and down is even worse (dark/light)... Final thought, nice screen if your working in with spreadsheets and have bad eyes. Any other purpose is not recommended. |
